Overview

Intents Festival is one of the largest and most progressive dance festivals in the Netherlands with a clear focus on the harder styles. Since 2004 it has grown from a local Brabant event into a premier benchmark for hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore, uptempo and freestyle, drawing tens of thousands of international visitors to a fully themed parallel world.

The festival takes place at Sportpark d’n Donk, Sportlaan 24 in Oisterwijk, a town in the southern part of the country close to Tilburg. It is a three-day allround mega weekender where visitors can also stay overnight at IntentsCity, the official festival camping and holiday park. The concept is unique: every edition is built around a new theme, transforming the grounds into IntentsCity, a living world of fantasy with immense stages worked out to the smallest detail.

During the weekend you can enjoy more than 400 artists divided over 10 stages, with advanced stage production including video, pyrotechnics, lasers, light shows, fireworks and theatrical endshows. It is famous for kicking off the Dutch summer in style with top-notch production values and a characteristic Brabant atmosphere that keeps visitors returning year after year.

What Makes This Event Special

A fully themed parallel world: Intents is not just stages on a field. Each edition has a cinematic story, with the entire site, from entrance to stages to camping, designed as a living fantasy world. Every detail, from signage to stage decor to actors, fits the theme.

Capital of Craziness: The festival’s motto reflects its identity. It is dedicated entirely to harder dance music, unlike multi-genre festivals where hardstyle is one stage. Here, hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore, uptempo and freestyle are the main program.

Immense production and endshows: Intents is renowned for its gigantic endshows. Both Saturday and Sunday feature massive light, laser and sound shows with fireworks, often considered among the best in the European hard dance scene.

10 stages, 400 artists: With more than 400 artists over the weekend, the breadth is enormous. From euphoric hardstyle and rawstyle to millennium, classic, hardcore, uptempo, freestyle and even hardstyle-influenced house and techno, you can find your own corner.

IntentsCity camping experience: Your festival vacation starts at IntentsCity, the dedicated festival campsite. It offers old-school tent camping, luxury options, lodges, glamping, pre-pitched tents and IntentsResort facilities, plus exclusive afterparties known as INTENTS:AFTR.

Since 2004 – 20+ years of expertise: Launched in 2004, Intents has dictated hard dance programming and sound design trends across northern Europe. It survived the Covid years and came back stronger, now recognized as one of the biggest harder styles festivals in Europe.

Lineup / Featured Artists

The lineup for 2027 will be announced via the official website at https://www.intentsfestival.nl/. Based on previous editions, expect the biggest names in the harder styles.

Hardstyle headliners: D-Block & S-te-Fan, Sub Zero Project, Brennan Heart, Ran-D, Da Tweekaz, Phuture Noize, B-Front, KELTEK, Devin Wild, Vertile, Warface, Adaro, Frequencerz, and The Pitcher have been regular mainstage acts.

Rawstyle and hard-hitting acts: Act of Rage, Radical Redemption, Aftershock, Aversion, Adjuzt, Mutilator, Rooler, Malice, Sickmode, E-Force, Rebelion, and Unresolved represent the raw edge.

Hardcore and uptempo: Angerfist, Miss K8, Mad Dog, Spitnoise, N-Vitral, Deadly Guns, Partyraiser, Dr. Peacock, Sefa, and The Sickest Squad bring hardcore and frenchcore intensity.

Freestyle and eclectic: Bizzey, Lil Kleine, Freddy Moreira, and crossovers that blend hardstyle with hip-hop, house and party sounds.

Classic and millennium: Paul Elstak, Darkraver, and special millennium sets that celebrate the roots of hardstyle.

Up-and-coming talent: Each edition gives space to over 100 emerging artists on smaller stages, ensuring discovery alongside the big names.

Event Experience

A mega weekender with non-stop music: From early afternoon until late night, music plays across 10 stages. Each stage has its own musical identity and visual theme, allowing for a personal experience with artists.

Stage design that rivals major festivals: Expect elaborate stage designs, impressive production values, video walls, pyrotechnics, lasers and theatrics that rival any major festival in the world. The mainstage is particularly famous for its massive build and storytelling.

Buckets, challenges and bucketlist: Intents Festival promotes an Intents Bucketlist, where visitors can suggest crazy activities to do on the festival. Past bucketlist items included proposal spots, costume parades and secret stages.

Day and night flow: Daytime focuses on euphoric and melodic sets, with more raw and hardcore sounds building towards evening. Endshows on Saturday and Sunday provide emotional, cinematic finales with light, laser and fireworks.

IntentsCity after-hours: After the main festival closes, camping residents can continue at INTENTS:AFTR, a rave party with the best beats, silent disco headphone parties for only a small extra fee, and Brabant-style fun.

Facilities and comfort: The site features large open-air stages, food courts, merchandise shops, locker zones near both entrances, first aid, and gated camping security.

Event History

Intents Festival launched in 2004 in Oisterwijk, Netherlands, as a small Brabant gathering focused on harder dance music. From a modest one-day event at Sportpark d’n Donk, it developed into a premier benchmark for harder-styles music festivals.

Over the years, the organization Intents Events BV expanded the concept into a multi-day gathering serving as a central platform for rawstyle, hardstyle and uptempo showcases. After a few danceless years due to Covid restrictions, the Intents team returned with an edition designed to be worth the wait, adding extra days and camping experiences.

By its 20th edition, Intents Festival had become one of the biggest festivals in Europe when it comes to the harder styles of dance music. The festival is now famous for its dedicated focus on harder electronic dance music genres, particularly hardstyle and hardcore, while also featuring performances in other genres such as house, techno and trance on smaller stages.

The characteristic Brabant atmosphere, combined with cinematic storytelling and overwhelming productions, ensures tens of thousands of visitors return to Oisterwijk year after year. The festival continues to set trends for stage design, sound and thematic execution.

Attendee Experiences

From a veteran visitor: Intents feels like a second home. I have been every year since 2015. The Brabant atmosphere is unmatched, the stages get bigger and more detailed every time, and the Saturday endshow still gives me goosebumps with lasers and fireworks perfectly timed to hardstyle anthems.

From a first-time international visitor: I came from Germany for the harder styles. The production is overwhelming in a good way. Ten stages means you never get bored, and the mix of euphoric, raw, hardcore and freestyle keeps energy high all day. IntentsCity camping made it easy to stay the whole weekend.

From a rawstyle fan: The raw stages are brutal in the best way. Sound is crystal clear even with heavy kicks. I saw Act of Rage, Radical Redemption and Warface all in one day, plus a surprise classic set by Paul Elstak. No other festival packs so much hard dance quality into one weekend.

From a couple camping: We booked a lodge at IntentsResort and added Weekend plus Camping tickets. Having our own gated space and reserved spot on Greenside Camping was worth it. After the festival we went to the INTENTS:AFTR silent disco for five euros and partied until late with campers only.
